We’re thrilled to announce the 2012 edition of SOUNDWAVES CHRISTMAS has won all four WAVE Awards – in the categories of ENTERTAINMENT, MUSIC PROGRAMMING, PROGRAM/CHANNEL PROMO and COMMUNITY ISSUES.
More than 350 entries were received for the Western Access Video Excellence (WAVE) Awards, representing community media producers in the Alliance for Community Western Region’s six states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Nevada, and New Mexico.
Producer Dennis Willis, also co-hosting the WAVE Awards with Lloyd LaCuesta and Claudia Cruz, said “This is because we have the best crew in the world.” He thanked the numerous stations with representatives in the room for their support. When Soundwaves won the final award of the night – Best Music Programming – Willis admitted that was the award he wanted most to win. “First and foremost, Soundwaves has always been a music show.”
The WAVE Awards ceremony were held Saturday October 26, 2013, and had a Soundwaves vibe even before the trophies were passed out. SW host Steven Kirk also served as the voice of the show, announcing all the category finalists.
