There are few constants in this world. Death, taxes, and the fact that Huey Lewis and the News are probably playing a gig somewhere, as they have for the past four decades.
But today, the band has announced that they’ve been forced off the road due to their iconic singer’s gradual hearing loss.
In a new statement from the band, Lewis revealed that he had lost most of his hearing and may well suffer from Meniere’s Disease, an inner ear disorder that can cause vertigo, tinnitus and ear pressure. The band was scheduled to perform at Outside Lands this summer, in addition to a number of headlining shows throughout the country.
We wish Huey all the best in his recovery.
