A really fun show recorded on Record Store Day at the Haight Street Art Center to celebrate all things vinyl and our collective love of music. With live performances by Four Year Bender and Jeff Desira PLUS fascinating interviews with Eric Christensen, director of “The Cover Story-Album Art”and the hilarious soundman to the stars Frank Gallagher.
Four Year Bender have a new album out “Gettin’ Gone” (available on vinyl) and a show to celebrate this Friday at the Cafe du Nord.
Eric Christensen is the director of “The Cover Story-Album Art,”a fascinating look at the history of iconic record covers with Blind Faith’s controversial 1969 release at the center of the movie. Also in the film, an interview with the now grown-ass man who was the baby on the cover of Nirvana’s iconic “Nevermind.”
Frank Gallagher is a Scottish bolix who has done sound for Buddy Guy, Talking Heads and currently works with the B-52’s. Some say he is the inspiration for the other Frank Gallagher, patriarch of the dysfunctional family that star on TV’s Shameless.
