Cheap Trick guitarist Rick Nielsen told Buzz Magazine that the boys have been working steady in the studio in advance of their summer tour with Poison. Nielsen reports that the currently untitled new album has ten tracks ready to roll.
In advance of the new album and tour, the band just released “The Summer Looks Good on You,” a song perfectly timed and perfectly titled to signal the beginning of the summer music season.
The single, written by Nielsen and Tom Petersson, is not only reminiscent of Cheap Trick’s melodic early work, but sounds like it could have come off a 1980’s soundtrack.
The lyric video utilizes a colorful typography style, and the band gets bonus points for incorporating the Soundwaves font in the video. Thanks for the subtle shout out, guys!
