PopOff! Bonus Beats: In Music We Trust

PopOff! is an “anything goes” musical show hosted by Bay Area DJ Bear. Sometimes it’s a theme, sometimes it’s a big ol’ birthday shout out tribute show to a specific artist(s). Shows occur on Mondays with the occasional Thursday Bonus Beats. Every episode is a unique sonic road trip through the multitudes of genres, eras, and musicians in recorded music. So if you have an open mind for musical exploration beyond mainstream radio programming climb into the PopOff! Bubble and let’s get to it!!

It is the last week in July and and our finale (at least for now) in my series of mini episodes exploring the musical legacies of various states as picked by the ol’ theme-a-tron and MAN has it been fun.

And for the finale the theme-o-tron lands us in the deep south… the deep, deep, deep south for some fun in the in the sun; Latin-pop, southern rock, and funk. Plus three of the United States greatest sax players of all time, two of whom are still living! It’s oranges, sunshine, and flowery grooves this time out in Florida. Enjoy!
